10th District offers internships

The 10th Congressional District Democrats are taking applications for internships. Applicants should be high school juniors or seniors, college students, or graduate or law students with a desire to help the Democratic Party. Computer skills are desired, and a commitment to work a minimum of 15 hours a week during the summer is required. Course credit is available with cooperating high schools and colleges. Students can apply for a summer internship, as well as one-semester internships or for the full year. There also are immediate internships available, with a requirement of at least eight hours after school or on weekends. Acceptance is contingent upon an interview. Sell, buy bikes at swap Saturday

The Arlington Heights Bicycle Association's annual bike swap will be Saturday at Centennial Park, 1209 Burr Oak Drive, Arlington Heights. Participants can sell or purchase bicycles and bicycle related items.

Items are accepted for sale between 7:30 a.m. and noon. Purchases can be made between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Fees are 10 percent of any sold items. Any items which do not sell must be picked up by 5 p.m.

Bikes and equipment must be in good condition. There is a $10 minimum for all items. Transactions are cash only. Sellers and buyers must be 18 years of age unless accompanied by an adult.
