Why one mom participates in Walk Now
This will be my fourth year participating in Walk Now for Autism Chicago.
I walk year after year for my son Nicholas. He will turn 10 the day after the walk, which brings him another year closer to becoming an adult.
When I walk I feel empowered as a parent. I'm taking action and playing a pertinent role in finding a cure for autism.
I pray that one day they discover a way to reverse the effects of autism so that our children may become valued contributors to society.
