Glen Ellyn police arrests robbery suspect
Glen Ellyn police arrested a suspect Thursday night in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a 7-Eleven store.
Police said at about 7:40 p.m., a man wielding a kitchen knife entered the store at 1214 Roosevelt Road.
Witnesses and a store employee wrestled the knife away from the suspect who fled the store empty-handed.
The man ran from the scene but was caught by police a short time later, said Glen Ellyn Deputy Chief Bill Holmer.
Police would not identify the suspect pending the approval of charges from the DuPage County state's attorney.
