Metra should drop fares for college kids

I believe that college students should receive a student discount on the Metra train into Chicago. A student discount would help college students save money, it would be a safer way for them to travel, and it would help the environment by having less cars on the road.

With Metra lowering their fares, more students will take the train because of the cost and Metra will have more business. Currently the only student discount is given to high school students.

College students will use the discount more because they take the train more. Students will cut their transportation costs in half and they will have more money for groceries, school supplies and money they can save for their future.

The train is also a safer way for students to travel. Students are more likely to get into an accident driving home from Chicago than when taking the train.

If more students take the train, it will keep more cars off the road, saving the environment from pollution.
