Dudle succeeds Dineen at Buffalo Grove

Pat Dudle, who has been an assistant to Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame girls basketball coach Tom Dineen, has been named the Buffalo Grove girls basketball varsity coach.

Dudle was the sophomore girls basketball coach last season and has been with the girls basketball program for the past eight years.

He replaces the 29-year veteran Dineen, who is retiring after this school year and is the third winningest coach in IHSA girls basketball history behind with a record of 677-229 and a Class AA state title in 2000.

"We are very excited that Pat has accepted the position," said Mark Schaetzlein, BG's assistant principal for student activities. "He brings to the court extensive knowledge of the game of basketball in addition to his head coaching experience as the head of our girls soccer program. Pat possesses a firm understanding of the traditions of our program and has the ability to continue the success set before him from coach Tom Dineen."

Dudle is a former soccer and basketball player at Rolling Meadows High School.

"We have been fortunate to enjoy much success in girls basketball over the years," Schaetzlein added. "And through Pat, we believe the future will continue to be bright."
