Tuesday tax date approaching

CHICAGO -- With the Tuesday, April 15, tax deadline approaching, some IRS offices in Illinois are open Saturday. Four northern Illinois IRS offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are at: 230 S. Dearborn St. in downtown Chicago, 8125 N. River Drive in Morton Grove, 14479 S. John Humphrey Drive in Orland Park, and 211 S. Court St. in Rockford. In addition, all IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers in northern Illinois will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. For locations, visit www.irs.gov. These sites offer free tax preparation and filing for individuals and families whose income is $40,000 or less.
