Arlington garden club scholarships available

The Arlington Heights Garden Club will award two $1,500 scholarships for students pursuing study in the fields of horticulture, botany, forestry, agriculture or environmental sciences.

Other fields of interest will be considered if applicant demonstrates experience in the horticulture/floral/nursery community over the past year.

Applicants must be residents of Arlington Heights or adjoining communities, have a C average, and be pursuing enrollment for the 2008-2009 school term in a vocational/ technical school, community college or university.

Scholarship applications are due on May 1, with recipients announced by June 1. Application information is available at local high school Career Center offices.
