Two reserve Saluki players to transfer

CARBONDALE -- Two reserve Southern Illinois basketball players are leaving Carbondale.

The school says it has granted permission to forward Jordan Armstrong and guard Brandon Wood to transfer to continue their playing careers.

Armstrong just completed his third season at Southern Illinois. The native of Muncie, Ind., redshirted in 2006, played in 10 games in 2007 and in 11 games last season.

Armstrong has two years of eligibility remaining.

Wood played just one season for the Salukis, competing in six games before a stress fracture in his leg ended his season in mid-December.

The Kokomo, Ind., native has three years of eligibility remaining.
