Carriers gear up for May 10 drive

The annual Letter Carrier Food Drive will be May 10 this year. The Palatine community has always shown tremendous support of this effort every year. With the recession, the need is particularly critical this year.

Please leave nonperishable items by your mail box on the morning of May 10 for pickup. Please avoid glass items as they easily break. Toiletries are also welcome. If you have a stash of toiletries from hotels, these are excellent donations.

We will have a large gurney in the lobby of the post office the week of the food drive for drop-offs. If you have a large pickup, call the office or notify your carrier so a pickup can be scheduled. Please be generous. Thank you in advance!
