My opinion not wanted by Dist. 25
So I heard a lot of discussion about air conditioning in the schools here in District 25.
Some people have the attitude that sure I use the air in my car or in my house but I am not asking someone else to pay for it. Other people stated if you can not afford the taxes then why did you move here or better yet LEAVE!
My problem, District 25 could keep its promise made during the last referendum about when property tax levels would drop but the members would rather not touch its reserve.
However, if you do not agree with current board members it is because you are not informed. You are not informed because the local papers have it wrong. Where do you get accurate information in Arlington?
In my opinion, those school board members who voted to extend the bonds to pay for the new air conditioning have become just another elected official that has misled the taxpayers. I listen to you complain about when President Mulder turns potential business property into a park bringing in no tax revenue to the schools, or the village trustee buy the Metropolis that now contributes no tax revenue toward the schools.
I have offered explanations of your policies in the past but this time … when people came to me all I could offer was the reminder that these are elected officials.
