Lt. Gov. Quinn reaffirms support for recall amendment

Lieutenant Governor Patrick Quinn is urging Illinois residents to push for a November vote on a constitutional amendment that would allow for the recall of elected officials.

Quinn also says Gov. Rod Blagojevich could be the target of a recall attempt if voters were to approve the amendment.

Quinn has long supported the proposal, but he stopped short of saying at a Sunday news conference whether Blagojevich should be recalled.

A recall bill is expected to come up for a final vote in the Illinois House this week. A similar bill is pending in the Senate.

Recall votes are allowed in 18 states.
