Quotes should have exposed Hadley

I find it quite offensive that you (or the AP, since that's where you got this article) chose to manipulate Stephen Hadley's quotes such that you didn't make clear that he mistook Nepal for Tibet no less than five times in a short interview on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."

It is inappropriate for you to strategically use quotation marks and then substitute the word "Tibet" for Hadley's actual use of the word "Nepal," making an assumption about what he meant.

In actuality, the fact that the national security adviser can't seem to tell the difference between Nepal and Tibet is news in and of itself, and the public deserves to know.

If you chose not to devote an entire story to it, that's your prerogative. But I direct you to the ABC News transcript for a better treatment of the matter. At least they acknowledged Hadley's error.

So much for journalistic integrity. What other news stories have you been manipulating? I would expect the Daily Herald to better check its sources, even those it purchases.
