Residents invited to Stroger meeting

As the duly elected representatives to the General Assembly in the 27th Legislative District, we encourage residents to attend a town hall meeting featuring Palatine officials and Cook County President Todd Stroger, to discuss the county's recent sales tax increase, as well as the ramifications of these taxes on northwest Cook County.

It is our hope that the town hall meeting will also shed light on the options for our area, including creating a new county consisting of the seven Cook County Townships of Palatine, Maine, Hanover, Barrington, Schaumburg, Wheeling and Elk Grove.

The town hall meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Harper College, in the Wojcik Conference Center. We encourage residents to attend and voice their opinions on the economic and governmental future of our area.

Please contact state Sen. Murphy at (847) 776-1490, or state Rep. Bassi at (847) 776-1880 with any questions or concerns.
