Flyers to honor Negro League legends in July

To honor two legendary teams from the Negro League, the Schaumburg Flyers and the Kansas City T-Bones will wear replica uniforms of the Kansas City Monarchs and Chicago American Giants when the two teams play on July 25 at Alexian Field in Schaumburg.

In addition, the first 2,500 fans who arrive at Alexian Field on the Negro League Legend Night will receive a U.S. Army scratch card and have a chance to win one of the 100 commemorative Minnie Minoso statues produced by Hartland.

Minoso, 82, played in the Negro League as well as for the Chicago White Sox and three other MLB clubs.

He has been invited to throw out the first pitch and is expected to sign a few statues of the winning ticket holders.
