7 not a lucky number for Heat

The Miami Heat had half a team, and even less of a chance against the Golden State Warriors.

Stephen Jackson scored 22 points, Baron Davis had 15 points and 10 assists and the Warriors eased past the severely short-handed Heat 134-99 on Friday night, handing host Miami its biggest loss of a dismal season.

Miami only had seven available players and was without Dwyane Wade, sidelined by left knee soreness.

"We didn't think they were going to lay down because Wade didn't play," Jackson said.

The Heat played the final 4½ minutes with one available substitute, after Udonis Haslem tweaked a gimpy ankle. He will not play today in Atlanta.

Al Harrington had 17 points, Monta Ellis scored 16 and Mickael Pietrus finished with 15 for Golden State, which eclipsed the 100-point mark for the 25th straight game and has won five of its last six. The Warriors also scored more points than anyone managed against Miami all season, topping the Bulls' 126 on Jan. 16.

Chris Quinn and Marcus Banks each scored 20 points for the NBA-worst Heat, who lost for the 30th time in their last 33 games.

Golden State outscored Miami 37-22 in the third period, stretching the lead to 100-73 entering the final 12 minutes, during which the Warriors essentially stayed on cruise control. Ellis had 14 points in the third, when the Warriors shot 73 percent (16 of 22) from the floor.

"I was surprised that they gave up so early," Pietrus said.

Wade could only watch helplessly from Miami's bench.

"Having to sit there and watch them go through it, it's never pleasant at all," Wade said.

NBA rules mandate that a team have eight players in uniform for a game, and the Heat met that requirement; Wade and Earl Barron (sore right knee) were the eighth and ninth men in uniform, although neither played. The rest of the 15-man roster was unavailable because of an array of roster moves, suspensions and injuries.

Jazz 126, Suns 118: Carlos Boozer scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half, including a tough 8-foot bank shot with 31.1 seconds left, and visiting Utah handed Phoenix its third consecutive home loss.

Deron Williams had 25 points and 15 asssists and Mehmet Okur had 25 points, including 4 of 6 3-pointers, and grabbed 14 rebounds to give the Jazz its fourth win in a row.

Amare Stoudemire scored 37, but the Suns fell to 3-6 since Shaquille O'Neal joined the lineup. O'Neal had 20 points, his highest-scoring game with Phoenix, and Steve Nash added 17 points and 15 assists.

Trail Blazers 103, Bucks 101: LaMarcus Aldridge scored 29 points, including a 13-foot jumper with 2.4 seconds remaining, to rally visiting Portland to a victory over Milwaukee.

Sixers 117, Sonics 83: Samuel Dalembert hit 10 of 11 field goals, had 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead host Philadelphia to its eighth straight home victory.

Bobcats 108, Hawks 93: Raymond Felton had 23 points and 11 assists, Matt Carroll scored 21 points and new-look Charlotte continued its surprising turnaround with a win over visiting Atlanta. The Bobcats (23-39) have won four straight.

Wizards 110, Raptors 106 (OT): Antawn Jamison had 25 points and 16 rebounds to lead visiting Washington.

Pistons 101, Knicks 97: Tayshaun Prince bounced back from a horrendous game in his last trip to Madison Square Garden, scoring 28 points to lead Detroit past New York.

Hornets 107, Nets 96: Chris Paul had 25 points and 16 assists, and host New Orleans won its third straight.
