Man charged in hit-and-run death of Good Samaritan

Chicago police say a 24-year-old man faces charges in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of a man who had just rescued a woman from two men who were kicking her.

Officers said Boubacar Bah was charged early today with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident. He had earlier turned himself in to officers who were searching for the driver who struck and killed 26-year-old Thomas Dalof in the far North Side's Rogers Park neighborhood early Saturday morning.

Investigators said Dalof had been out celebrating his acceptance into the Stagehands Union and a chance to become a Chicago firefighter when he and friends saw and confronted the two men who were kicking the woman outside a tavern.
