Lake Forest continues to dominate
The Lake Forest girls tennis team has dominated all season, and the North Suburban Conference meet was no exception.
The Scouts won championships at all five flights Saturday, totaling 40 points to nearly double up runner-up Libertyville (21.5).
Lake Zurich (18.5) was third, while Mundelein (15) and Warren (15) tied for fourth in the 14-team field.
For Mundelein, it was the Mustangs' highest finish in more than 10 years.
Lake Forest did not lose a match in any of its NSC dual meets, and its nonconference wins included triumphs over Glenbrook North, Deerfield and Barrington.
Lake Forest's conference champions included singles players Kathleen Saltarelli (No. 1) and Katie Zordani (No. 2).
The Scouts' doubles winners were Lucy Clark/Hollis McPeek (No. 1), Faith Bassiouny/Claire DiMario (No. 2) and Kristine Kasbeer/Elizabeth Rowe (No. 3).
Libertyville had a pair of finalists in Dena Boulieris (No. 1 singles) and Sharon Lo/Emily Paul (No. 2 doubles).
Other finalists were Lake Zurich's Margaret Boden (No. 2 singles), Warren's Taylor Ackerman/Allison Strakusek (No. 1 doubles) and Stevenson's Bryanne Dawman/Ally Rappaport (No. 3 doubles).
In the third-place match at first singles, Mundelein's Hanne MacDonald outlasted Antioch's Maggie Sabatino in three games.
Antioch's Angela Marescalco captured third at No. 2 singles.
The third-place doubles finishers were Mundelein's Karlie Alms/Paige Parola (No. 1), Stevenson's Jen Singer/Dena Zaiff (No. 2) and Libertyville's Megan Janseul/Jessica Bodeman (No. 3).
