Bond denied for alleged gunman in shooting near Chicago school

Two teenagers remain in custody and are charged with first-degree murder in the weekend slaying of another teen in the parking lot of Simeon Career Academy on the city's South Side.

A Cook County judge denied bail today for alleged gunman 17-year-old Samuel Hill and 19-year-old Ronald Little was held in lieu of $1 million bail. The teens are charged in the shooting death of 18-year-old Chavez Clarke.

Clarke is the 20th Chicago Public Schools student killed by gun violence this school year.

Hill's lawyer, Howard Weisman, says if the teens are responsible for the shooting, it was self-defense.

Two other youths were released without charges. Police say none of the four youths arrested were students at Simeon.
