Geo-Karis treated people with respect

There are very few times in your life that you meet someone who is larger than anyone you have ever met. I met the late Sen. Adeline Geo-Karis on her 78th birthday. We were singing "Happy Birthday" to her and I barely knew who she was.

As time passed, we became close friends. I was really impressed with her honesty, her integrity and her hard work ethic. It was hard to find anyone that she had not helped. If you called her, she called you back immediately. If you had a problem, she either solved it or told you how she was going to solve it -- not if!

Sen. Geo-Karis was a perfect example of how someone in office should treat his or her constituents, with respect and honor. It is hard to say how much the people of Lake county will miss her -- but I for one will miss her a lot.

Lake County should feel honored to have had such a wonderful women watching out for them.
