Storm falls on road to Detroit

The shorthanded Chicago Storm fell to the Detroit Ignition 15-7 on Sunday in Major Indoor Soccer League play at Compuware Arena in Plymouth, Mich.

The Ignition (17-7), winner of five straight, took the season series against the Storm 3-1. The visitors (14-11) played without Stephen Armstrong (ankle injury), Gabriel Cigliano (MCL sprain) and Mark Ughy, the latter serving a red-card violation from Saturday's match against Monterrey.

The Ignition shut out the Storm 4-0 in the first half and led 6-0 early in the third quarter before Benjamin Chavolla got the visitors on the scoreboard with a 2-point goal at the 2:49 mark. But Detroit scored 4 of the remaining 6 goals of the match to remain in control.
