2 charged with killing man in dispute over hallucinogenic mushrooms

Authorities have filed first-degree charges against two Chicago men accused of killing a man in 2003 after he wouldn't give them the hallucinogenic mushrooms they demanded.

The two appeared Sunday in Cook County Bond Court.

The judge ordered 28-year-old Antolino Phillips held in lieu of $2 million bail in the shooting death of 22-year-old Derek Tate Jr.

Bail was set at $1 million for 25-year-old Alexis Medina, who also was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly providing the gun.
