DuPage County in 60 seconds

Glenbard hosts shoe show:

The DuPage County Health Department will display 1,200 pairs of shoes Thursday at Glenbard West High School to illustrate the number of people who die every day in the U.S. from tobacco and secondhand smoke. Project 1200 aims to raise teens' awareness of the dangers of tobacco and smoking. The shoes will be displayed on the sidewalk up the hill and in front of the school at 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. All shoes collected for the project will be donated to charity. Donations are accepted until Wednesday. For details, call the school at (630) 942-7573 or the health department at (630) 682-7400.
