Gas main break reported in Naperville

Construction crews accidentally severed a 2-inch gas line at 3:06 p.m. today along Naperville-Plainfield Road between Conan Doyle Road and 104th Street in Naperville.

Naperville-Plainfield Road currently is closed in both directions between 95th Street to the north and 104th Street to the south.

Nicor crews are on the scene and repairs are under way and expected to be completed by 6 p.m.

Residents are advised to avoid the area until the road is reopened.
