Two members of an elevator installers union were appointed to a new state elevator-safety board about the time their local gave a $10,000 campaign contribution to Gov. Rod Blagojevich, records show. One of the appointees, Frank Christensen, was named chairman of the Elevator Safety Review Board although it appears he's not technically eligible to serve, according to documents reviewed by The Associated Press. Christensen, business manager for Local 2 of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, fills a slot reserved for a city with less than 50,000 people. He lives in Tinley Park, population 58,320.
