Woodland to hold kindergarten sign-up

Woodland Community Consolidated School District 50 will hold kindergarten registration on April 5 at Woodland Primary School, 17366 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake.

Registering 2008-09 kindergarten students at this time helps Woodland District 50 plan ahead and make accommodations for all incoming students.

Kindergarten registration packets are now available from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. prior to registration at all Woodland schools and the Educational Support Center, 1105 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee.

Scheduled Times for April 5 are:

• For kindergarten families with children currently enrolled at Woodland schools whose last name begins with "A" through "L": 8 to 9:30 a.m.

• For kindergarten families with children currently enrolled at Woodland Schools whose last name begins with "M" through "Z": 9:30 to 11 a.m.

• For kindergarten families to new Woodland Schools whose last name begins with "A" through "L": 1 to 2:30 p.m.

• For kindergarten families to new Woodland Schools whose last name begins with "M" through "Z": 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Kindergarten students who will enter Woodland District 50 for the 2008-09 school year must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1.

County -issued birth certificates are required in order to start the registration process. Parents should make arrangements to have the birth certificate with them at registration. In addition, two proofs of residency will also be required. Information regarding these requirements is provided in the registration packet.

Physicals and dental exams need not be completed prior to registration.
