Religious crackpots and the campaigns
It would appear Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain are supported by clergymen who are, to put it mildly, religious crackpots.
Sen. Obama is supported by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who believes we should be calling upon the Christian deity to "damn America" while his church Web site proclaims:
"We are an African people, and remain 'true to our native land,' the mother continent, the cradle of civilization."
Sen. McCain is supported by the Rev. John Haggee, who is the pastor of a mega-church in San Antonio, Texas. Haggee has proclaimed the Roman Catholic Church is the "whore of Babylon" and responsible for Hitler's murder of some 6 million Jews because Hitler was born into the Roman Catholic Church.
Just as Wright is an African chauvinist, Haggee is an Israeli chauvinist as he claims 50 million American evangelical Christians support Israel because Israel was "founded by God" whereas other nations were founded by men.
Sen. Obama should tell Wright to emigrate to his beloved Africa and leave the country that "deserves" damnation by his god.
Sen. McCain should tell Haggee to move to his beloved Israel and stop his pretense of being an American.
