Time for a change in getting the news
In response to Jim Slusher's editorial on March 13, I can appreciate the dilemma your paper faces. I have been a reader of the Daily Herald for 40-plus years and in the last three to four years I have noticed a dramatic increase in advertising space. I'm willing to bet that on some days there is more space for advertising than news stories.
And therein lies the reason for the decline in newspaper's readership. You need the money generated by advertisers but lose readers because of the increase in advertising. I guess that I will have to learn to get my news by other means than the printed page. This is the 21st century and it's time for a change.
