No voting for those uninformed and 17
I heard about the bill proposed to Springfield considering lowering the voting age to 17. I believe the voting age should still be 18 but if the teenager would be 18 in the national election, then they would be allowed to vote in the primary.
If the voting age was lowered to 17, some teens wouldn't know who to vote for, and most 17-year-olds don't even care about the election. I know that if I wasn't in a government and politics class right now I probably wouldn't care about the election as much as I do.
The election this year is important because it could be changing history. The results from this election could have a black man in the Oval Office or a woman. An election like this needs true voters who researched each candidate and makes a decision on who they think will be best fitted as the next U.S. president.
If the voting age was changed to 17 and they didn't know anything about government, then their vote most likely would be for whom their parents told them to vote for or for a candidate that they heard from school or their friends. Their vote wouldn't be based on who they wanted, but for who other people wanted.
Each vote is important and by having "silly and random" votes in such a close election could impact the results dramatically.
