Blackmail by e-mail? Arlington Hts. police isn't saying

Arlington Heights police declined to comment late Monday about a published report about three residents receiving "spam" e-mails telling them to pay up or they'd be killed. The e-mails in question stated that the residents were being watched and demanded sums of $15,000 or $20,000. Police declined to release information late Monday.
