Dump the Electoral College, go popular
Listening to individuals who want to be elected to various political offices is like watching a soap opera.
Why do people want to be elected to office in the first place? Is it their ego, pride or do they just want their name up in lights?
A noted social scientist said it is a combination of all, mainly because for many of them, they have been failures in previous positions in life. Running for office inflates their ego and makes them feel important.
They promise everything in sight, knowing full well their promises are meaningless unless the majority of both houses goes along with their bill introduction.
There has to be a better way to select candidates. A person's right to vote is a precious gift and should only be used as a popular vote for a candidate, not for a delegate or for the Electoral College system.
If you, the voter, are not satisfied with our present election system, petition your representative for a change.
We really do need a change in federal elections from the Electoral College to the straight popular vote, state by state.
