Briefs: Sign up for preschool
Registration for Hampshire Park District's little people playtime preschool program runs from 9 a.m. to noon today at the preschool, 441 E. Jefferson Ave. Birth certificate, proof of residency and a $55 registration fee are required. March 15 is open registration for nonresidents. Registration is continuous throughout the summer and school year. Early registration is encouraged.
Library hosts Irish music
Looking to start your St. Patrick's Day celebrations a little early? Join the Dundee Township Library at 2 p.m. today when the Academy of Irish Music will present traditional Irish music. Open day at Bandits store
The Chicago Bandits, a women's fast-pitch softball team that will play games at Judson University in Elgin for at least the next three years while a larger stadium is being built, will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at their team store, 72 S. Elgin High flea market
The Elgin High School Parent Teacher Organization will present its 35th annual Collectibles, Crafts and Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the school, 1200 Maroon Drive, Elgin. Proceeds will buy school supplies and fund college scholarships. About 160 dealers will sell country collectibles, depression glassware, Elgin memorabilia, vintage linens, records and books, handyman tools and gadgets, sports cards and memorabilia.
