Fire damages Carpentersville home

Carpentersville firefighters responded to a Monday afternoon fire in a house on the 1600 block of Marlboro Circle in Carpentersville.

The fire started just after 4:30 p.m. and was contained to the attic. A neighbor managed to keep the fire from spreading by using a garden hose until the fire department arrived, according to Carpentersville Fire Chief John Schuldt.
