Dancing with the Band: The Elk Grove Park District's Sheila Ray Adult Center is hosting the next monthly Dancing with the Band from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Hattendorf Center, 225 E. Elk Grove Boulevard. Enjoy dancing to the big band tunes of the Switch Time Jazz Group. Admission is $5. Sheila Ray Adult Center members pay $3. For details, call (847) 228-3549.
Preschool registration: The Elk Grove Park District is holding fall 2008 preschool registration for Elk Grove residents from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The park district preschool is designed to promote enjoyment for children through cooperative work and play. The Illinois Early childhood Learning Standards are incorporated into the curriculum. Easter egg hunt: The Pavilion Aquatic Center at 1000 Wellington will have an Easter Egg Hunt in the pool from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. The Easter Bunny will be there. Children will be divided into age groups to hunt for the eggs. Participants should bring baskets. Cost is $7 for resident children and $10 for nonresident children. Adults are $5. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny:Ĺ’Parents and children will spend a great morning with breakfast, entertainment and a picture with the Easter Bunny from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 15 at the Hattendorf Center, 225 E. Elk Grove Blvd. Cost is $10 for resident children and $7 for resident adults, nonresident children are $12 and nonresident adults are $9. Registration required. Doggie Easter Egg Hunt: Bring your dog to the fourth annual Doggie Easter Egg Hunt from 9 to 10 a.m. March 22. Plastic eggs will be hidden all over Powell Park in Elk Grove Village. If your dog sniffs it -- it's theirs. Feel free to dress up your pooch. There will be prizes. Dogs must be leashed. Cost is $10 for residents and $15 for nonresidents. Registration required.

Annual trees art exhibit: The Artist Association of Elk Grove and The Elk Grove Park District present the annual Trees Art Exhibit 2008 Saturday through April 26 at the Elk Grove Village Public Library, 1001 Wellington Ave. For details, call (847) 437-0252.
Tax help: Seniors age 60 and older with incomes of less than $60,000 may sign up at the Elk Grove Sheila Ray Adult Center, 225 E. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village to have their 2007 federal and state income tax returns prepared. Both electronic and paper filing is available. Tax returns are prepared from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays through April 11, and Wednesdays through April 9. AARP trained and certified volunteers prepare the returns in this IRS-AARP Tax-Aide service. Federal forms 1040 EZ, 1040A, and 1040 with schedules for interest, dividends, itemized deductions, and capitol gains can be prepared. Also forms C-EZ and ES for persons with self employment income and expenses under $2,500. The Tax-Aide service cannot prepare complicated returns including Schedule C profit or loss from business, Schedule E rents and losses, Form 8606 nondeductible IRA's, out of state gambling winnings and out of state sale of property.
