Families
The United Methodist Church of Geneva will host its inaugural Grace Place dinner and concert event April 5 to share the church's hospitality with the Fox Valley community. The church is at Hamilton and Second streets in Geneva, one block north of State Street.
The casual dress evening begins at 6 p.m. with a dinner of ham, au gratin potatoes and all the fixings.
Scott Stevenson and Dennis O'Brien perform at 7:30 p.m. Stevenson is an arranger and composer and plays the keyboard.
O'Brien has been performing acoustic rock classics and original songs for more than 20 years.
A buffet of homemade pie and cake will be served after the concert.
The tickets for dinner, dessert and the concert are $15. Tickets for the concert and dessert are $10.

• Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will hold a bread and soup luncheon from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 30 at the Sugar Grove Community House on Main Street across from the church. The church is at 176 Main St.
The church will need 30 one-gallon pots of soup in electric crock pots. All types and varieties are welcome. Donations will be accepted for Mutual Ground, a women and children's shelter in Aurora.

Mothers
The Mothers at the Well of St. Patrick's Church hold the final program of their season from 9 to 11:30 a.m. April 25 at the Crane Road Church, 6N491 Crane Road in St. Charles.
Mary Vogrinc will present "A Humorous and Holy Look at Living a Life of Simplicity."
Vogrinc is a Catholic lay evangelist who uses humor and testimonies. She hosts Light of the World retreats nationwide and has spoken at women's conferences across the U.S.
Vogrinc and her husband Brian live in Rockford and have five sons, three are biological and two are adopted. She and her husband were foster parents for 19 years and shared their home with approximately 54 foster children.

Adults
The First Congregational Church of Geneva will be hosting a monthly Friday night movie series beginning March 28 and continuing into June.
The church is at Fourth and Hamilton streets, one block north of State Street and one block west of Third Street.
The series features movies with a social justice theme.
"For the Bible Tells Me So," a documentary challenging biblical interpretations on homosexuality, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. March 28.
"The Wall," a documentary offering a surprising perspective on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. April 25.
"An Inconvenient Truth," Nobel Prize-winner Al Gore's documentary on global warming, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. May 23.
"Bowling for Columbine," a documentary by Michael Moore on guns, children, and school shootings, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. June 27.
Admission is free, and nursery care will be available. Popcorn and beverages will be served.
