Volunteers honored for dedication to Girl Scouts

Kristy Bragg of Gurnee and Nancy O'Brien of Grayslake were awarded the Girl Scout Appreciation Pin at the recent Girl Scouts -- Illinois Crossroads Council Annual Corporate Meeting on Feb. 23.

Bragg was nominated by other Girl Scout volunteers to recognize her dedication to Girl Scout World Thinking Day. According to the volunteers who nominated Bragg, her annual Tasting Tea events promote international friendship as well as the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, and help Girl Scouts learn more about other countries.

O'Brien was nominated by other Girl Scout volunteers for her efforts as a Girl Scout school organizer. She was described as an outstanding recruiter and school organizer, and a role model for girls and adults.

The Girl Scout Appreciation Pin recognizes an adult who has delivered outstanding service above and beyond the expectations for the position held. This service must benefit one or more administrative groups or Girl Scout Program audiences, and must contribute to the council's goals and objectives.
