Sara Lee sells stake in Mexican venture

DOWNERS GROVE -- Sara Lee Corp. Thursday announced it is selling its 49.9 percent stake in the Qualtia Alimentos business in Mexico to its joint venture partner, Xignux. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The completion of the transaction is subject to customary conditions and is expected within a month. Qualtia Alimentos sells meats and cheeses under brand names Zwan, Kir, Duby, Riojano, Alpino, Donfer, Caperucita and Buen Pastor. It employs more than 6,500 people.
