Buffalo Grove honors two officers

The Buffalo Grove village board recognized two police officers Monday. Officer Frank Horbus was given the 2007 Special Commendation Award. He has been with the department since 1999 and has been a firearms instructor, school safety resource officer and traffic unit specialist, among other accomplishments. Officer Bob Sizer was the AMVETS 2007 Officer of the Year. He began his Buffalo Grove career in 1997 at the age of 54 after working for Peoples Gas for 35 years. He is certified to deploy beanbag impact munitions and is a member of the department's crisis-hostage negotiation team.
