IRS offers help for tax returns
The Internal Revenue Service will open 320 locations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in an effort to reach those who are eligible for an economic stimulus rebate but who normally are not required to file a federal tax return. IRS officials will help people prepare a simple Form 1040A for filing a return solely to receive their stimulus payment. Area offices include 230 S. Dearborn, Chicago; and 200l Butterfield Road, Downers Grove. For information, go to www.irs.gov or call (800) 906-9887.
