None hurt in Elgin fire
An Elgin home sustained about $70,000 damage from a fire early Saturday, authorities said.
Elgin firefighters were called about 12:13 a.m. to 446 Summit St., after residents returned home and smelled smoke, said Fire Capt. Dave Schmidt.
Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to locate a fire in a wall and the attic. Damage was estimated at about $50,000 to the home and $20,000 to the contents, Schmidt said.
No one was injured. The cause was under investigation Saturday.
