Endeavor Health Northwest Community Hospital Emerald Circle announces upcoming events
Endeavor Health Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) Emerald Circle is offering two new events in February and March for older adults.
Music to Warm the Heart: An experience of mindful listening takes place from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at St. Simons Episcopal Church, 717 W. Kirchoff Road, Arlington Heights. Music can calm the mind, energize the body, soothe the spirit and help us feel more connected to each other and the world around us. Participants can enjoy beautiful music, learn more about the capacity of music to support overall wellness and experience of mindful listening. Jill Kottmeier, director of Wellbeing and Bereavement Services at NCH, along with vocalists, Julie Ballenger and CC Nykol, and pianis, Beau Surratt from St. Simon's Episcopal Church, will lead attendees through an exploration of music and wellness. Bladder, Bladder What’s the Matter?: Will take place from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, at the NCH Auditorium, 800 W. Central Road,, Arlington Heights. Presented by Dr. Randall Kahan and Valerie Boeldt-Umbright, BS, RN, CCCN, Pelvic Floor and Bladder Program, Women’s Center. Attendees will learn about urinary incontinence types and the most up-to-date ways of treatment, including behavioral therapy, biofeedback therapy, medication and surgery. Women of any age do not just have to live with this. Help and treatment are available. Surgery is not the only solution and no one is too old for treatment for this condition.
