Brown's ruling next week

A Cook County judge said Wednesday he would rule next week on a media subpoena from the lawyers for the former Palatine man standing trial for the 1993 Brown's Chicken murders. The judge already ordered NBC5 to preserve all notes and footage related to an interview with Anne Lockett, the former girlfriend of defendant James Degorski. The defense has requested copies of those tapes. Lockett, whose tip led police to arrest Degorski and his pal Juan Luna in 2002, was a star witness in Luna's trial last spring. Luna was convicted and is serving a life sentence.
