Pingree to hire more police
Pingree Grove officials last week added two more part-time police officers to its force, bringing the total number of police up to eight. The two officers will work roughly 20 hours a week and make $20 an hour, Police Chief Carol Lussky said. The village plans to hire four more part-time officers within the next six months.
How to get on village panel
Carpentersville residents interested in applying for a position on one of the village boards or committees now have guidelines and protocol to follow. The village board has outlined requirements, both for the village and applicant, when a seat opens up. Once a position is available, the village must post the opening on its Web site and marquee outside of village hall as well as in local newspapers. Potential candidates will then have 21 days to send a letter of interest to either Village President Bill Sarto or Village Manager Craig Anderson.
