Ludwig, Frank finish one, two in District 6

Robert Ludwig and Darryl Frank were the victors in the Democratic primary for the McHenry County Board's 6th District, beating out challenger Andrew Georgi.

With all precincts reporting, Ludwig won the contest with 2,728 votes, Frank placed second with 2,634 votes and Georgi got 1,940 votes, according to unofficial results.

The vote totals do not include early voting, which was still being tallied early this morning.

"It certainly helped getting the endorsements from both the Daily Herald and the Northwest Herald," Ludwig said. "I think a part of it is my name is just a little more recognized than Andrew's."

Frank said his win was a vindication of his strategy and message after his unsuccessful campaign in 2006.

"It just reinforces what I tried to do two years ago, although I have to admit Andrew brings up very good points that should not be ignored," Frank said.
