Through March 3, Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham offers absentee voting for the March 8 special general election.
This special election is to elect the candidate who will fill the vacancy for Representative in the 14th Congressional District.
Registered voters who expect to be absent from the county or who are physically incapacitated and unable to go to the polling places may apply for an absentee ballot.
The last day a ballot can be mailed to a voter is March 3.
The County Clerk's Voter Management Office, in addition to having regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, will have the following extended hours:
• Feb. 27 and March 5, open from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.
• March 1, open from 9 a.m. until noon.
• March 2, open from 9 a.m. until noon.
The following schedule will be in effect for the March 8 Special General Election.
Grace Period Voting will be through Feb. 25. Absentee Voting in Person will be through March 7. Early Voting will be through March 3. A list of Early Voting sites will be available at www. kanecountyelections.org.
