More snow may make commute a mess

Tuesday's snow in northern Illinois is not expected to bring accumulations close to last week's near-blizzard. However, the colder temperatures will result in snow immediately accumulating on roadways, according to weather service forecasters.

The National Weather Service had issued a snow advisory through 4 p.m. Tuesday, with the expectation of 4 to 7 inches of new snow. But the accumulation was reduced to from one to three inches on top of an already substantial snow pack.
