Loss reported at R.R. Donnelley
CHICAGO -- R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. reported a fourth-quarter loss after the commercial-printing firm recorded a nearly $500 million pretax charge to write down the value of its offshore business process outsourcing group. In the most recent quarter, Donnelley had a net loss of $293.3 million, or $1.37 a diluted share, compared with a year-ago loss of $1.2 million. Sales, strengthened by substantial acquisitions Donnelley has made over the last year, increased 25 percent to $3.09 billion.
