Man accused of threatening judge

A man set to appear in a Chicago court on Monday faces a charge of sending a threatening communication to a federal judge, authorities said.

Anthony Meyers, 30, was indicted on the charge in connection with a letter he sent Dec. 7, according to his indictment. The indictment said the communication was sent "at Chicago," but Meyers is currently in Westville, Ind., according to a U.S. Attorney's spokeswoman.

Meyers has a hearing scheduled in Chicago on Monday at the Dirksen Federal Building, 219 S. Dearborn St.

The U.S. Attorney's office would not say what threats the letter allegedly made, nor which judge received it.
