Madigan, Jackson help homeowners

CHICAGO -- Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. on Thursday urged homeowners in danger of losing their homes to call their mortgage company or a housing counselor. They could also call Rainbow PUSH at (773) 373-3366, or Madigan's new Homeowners' Referral Helpline at (866) 544-7151 for guidance on avoiding mortgage foreclosure. The helpline is staffed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Access to the Illinois Mortgage Lending Guide is at www.IllinoisAttorneyGeneral.gov.
