We borrow from China for rebates

Let me see now, I am just a little slow about these things.

I guess if we borrow $180 billion from China and then cut a $600 check for everybody to buy their vote, then we can all go to our local discount store and buy Chinese stuff (maybe dog food or painted toys), and everybody will get rich. OK?

Wouldn't it make more sense to give every Chinese $600 and hope that they spend it on some of our overpriced junk?
