Estonian delegation to visit Grove Junior High in March

Can you find Estonia on a map, Elk Grove Village?

Well, you better brush up on that geography: A group from the country has found your town and will be visiting.

A delegation of educators from Estonia will visit Grove Junior High School in March as part of an exchange program.

In April, a Grove teacher and District 59 administrator will visit Estonia.

Jaan Lember, an Estonia school headmaster, will visit on March 17-18, teaching students about Estonian schools and about life in Estonia today versus when the country was under communist rule.

The American exchange program is funded by Congress and administered by the Department of Education and the Center of Civic Education.

On March 20, the entire Estonian delegation will meet with school and village officials.

Grove teacher Jenny Morales, and Nancy Wagner, District 59 assistant superintendent for instruction, will visit Estonia in April to compare American and Estonian teaching techniques.
